Grocery Shopping from the Comfort of your Home

With the cold weather upon us and even snow in some provinces (who wants to go out in that?!) – we’re looking at you Southern Alberta – it’s time to consider grocery shopping from the comfort of your own home.

While it’s not a new concept, shopping for groceries from home has evolved quite a bit since its inception. If you were hesitant in the past, we think it’s high time you reexamine the shop-tions!

We’ve compiled a list of the best ways you can grocery shop from home and either get it delivered or pick up in-store. We love a time-saving option to help make our busy lives easier, not to mention to the added opportunity to earn Cash Back.

Gift Cards

Did you know you can buy grocery gift cards from Rakuten in our Gift Card Shop? There are cards for IGA, Atlantic Superstore, Longo’s, Safeway, Sobeys, No Frills, and many more. These grocery gift cards cover a wide range of stores across the country. So, no matter where you are, you can earn Cash Back!

Now, once you have a gift card, you can either shop as you would in-store or if they offer online shopping, you can use it that way. Many offer some kind of in-store pick-up option or delivery to your home or office! Convenience at its best.

Other Options

Of course, groceries aren’t just available at traditional grocery stores anymore. Many items can be purchased from Walmart and Amazon. What’s great is that with Walmart you can also choose in-store pick-up – a store associate drops your bags into your car at a designation drop-off in the store parking lot, or home delivery. While with Amazon, if you have a Prime membership, you can get free two-day delivery on eligible items.

In-Store Shopping, In-Store Pick-Up or Delivery

There are three main ways you can shop for groceries online and earn Cash Back. Once you’ve purchased your gift card, you can shop in-store as usual. Or, you can shop online but choose to pick up your order at the store. The main difference is that one requires you to walk up and down busy aisles and then wait in line to pay for your items, and either bag them yourself or have them bag for you.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that! Sometimes it’s nice to do the aisle shopping to get inspiration for what you might create or see a few familiar neighbourhood faces. But sometimes, when you’ve had an especially long day at work, it’s hard to muster the courage to shop when you just want to go home and binge the newest Netflix series.

Alternatively, you can use that same gift card to shop online but this time opt for the in-store pick-up option. What’s cool about this choice is that if you have a specific list it’s easy to knock it out quickly and efficiently. And most grocery stores offer to drop your items off at your car with their in-store pick option. Designated parking spaces mean you can be on your way home with a stocked trunk faster than you can say ‘I earned Cash Back!’

Of course, that means you still have to go to the store. The option with the least effort is home delivery. Not all stores offer in-home delivery, so you need to inquire before getting excited, however, some do. And if they don’t, consider INABUGGY.com!

So how will you choose to do your grocery shopping this fall and winter?
